Finance Ministry Tables Interim Fiscal Consolidation Roadmap for FY27–FY30

The Ministry of Finance released an Interim Fiscal Consolidation Roadmap targeting a fiscal deficit of 4.0% of GDP in FY27, reducing to 3.0% by FY30 in line with the FRBM Act target. Supreme Court Delivers Landmark Ruling on Article 370 Abrogation Challenge

A seven-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court upheld the 2019 abrogation of Article 370, ruling 6:1 that Parliament's power to act as the Constituent Assembly of Jammu & Kashmir was temporary and that the President's proclamation under Article 356 in August 2019 was constitutionally valid. DRDO and IIT Madras Develop Indigenous Carbon Fibre for Aerospace Applications

India Launches Mission LiFE Phase II — Lifestyle for Environment Campaign

India launched Phase II of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), targeting behavioural change in 1 billion citizens through 75 pro-planet actions across energy, water, food, and waste domains. Phase II introduces a digital LiFE dashboard and district-level implementation through gram panchayats and urban local bodies. Mission LiFE was proposed by PM Modi at COP26, Glasgow.

INS Vikrant Completes First Overseas Deployment to Gulf of Aden

INS Vikrant, India's first indigenous aircraft carrier, completed its first overseas operational deployment — a 45-day mission in the Gulf of Aden as part of Operation Sankalp, India's anti-piracy and maritime security mission in the Western Indian Ocean. INS Vikrant was commissioned in September 2022 and is powered by four General Electric LM2500 gas turbines.

PM Awas Yojana Grameen Surpasses 3.5 Crore House Completion Target

The Ministry of Rural Development announced that PMAY-Grameen has surpassed the completion of 3.5 crore houses since its launch in 2016, with 98.7% of sanctioned units completed. The scheme targets Below Poverty Line (BPL) rural households with unit assistance of ₹1.20 lakh in plains and ₹1.30 lakh in hilly/NE regions.
