India Signs Bilateral Investment Treaty with UAE for a 10-Year Term

International

India and the UAE signed a Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) providing investor protection, dispute resolution via UNCITRAL arbitration, and a 10-year commitment period. The treaty, negotiated under the 2015 Indian Model BIT framework, replaces the previous 1997 agreement terminated in 2016. UAE is India's second-largest trading partner with bilateral trade of USD 85 billion annually.

Vadhvan Greenfield Port Begins Construction with ₹76,220 Crore Investment

The Vadhvan Greenfield Deep-Draft Port in Maharashtra formally commenced construction, with the first caisson block laid at the port site. Approved as a major port under the Major Port Authorities Act, 2021, Vadhvan will have a capacity of 23.2 million TEU upon completion by 2035, making it the largest port in South Asia. The port is developed under the PPP model by the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority.

Ministry of Labour Notifies New Occupational Safety Standards for Gig Workers

INS Arighaat Conducts Submerged Ballistic Missile Test in Bay of Bengal

NTCA Reports Tiger Census 2026: India's Tiger Population Reaches 3,862

Chandrayaan-4 Mission Receives ISRO Board Approval; Targets 2028 Lunar Sample Return
