India's Foreign Direct Investment Inflows Cross USD 100 Billion in 2025-26

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) reported that India received USD 103.4 billion in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in 2025-26, surpassing the USD 100 billion mark for the first time. Equity FDI was USD 74.2 billion, portfolio investment USD 29.2 billion. The technology sector led with 28% share, followed by financial services (19%) and renewable energy (15%). Mauritius, Singapore, and USA were the top source countries.

DRDO Delivers First Batch of Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System to Indian Army

DRDO handed over the first production batch of 12 Advanced Towed Artillery Gun Systems (ATAGS) to the Indian Army, developed jointly by DRDO, Tata Advanced Systems, and Bharat Forge. ATAGS fires at a range of 48 km with a 155 mm/52 calibre barrel and has the highest firing range among comparable global artillery systems. It will replace the Bofors gun in mountain warfare configurations.

First Domestically Produced Proton-Boron Fusion Reactor Component Developed by BARC

The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) demonstrated a laboratory-scale proton-boron (p-B11) aneutronic fusion device achieving sustained plasma ignition, becoming only the fourth institution globally to demonstrate this reaction type. Unlike D-T fusion, p-B11 fusion produces minimal radioactive waste and no neutron radiation, making it ideal for compact energy applications. The research is funded under the Department of Atomic Energy.
