IIT Kharagpur develops biodegradable MEMS sensor for real-time soil health monitoring

NRSC releases India Land Use and Land Cover Atlas 2026 at 5-metre resolution
GeographyThe National Remote Sensing Centre released the India Land Use and Land Cover Atlas 2026 — the first national-scale LULC product at 5-metre resolution — using Cartosat-3 multi-spectral imagery and deep-learning classifiers. The atlas shows net forest cover increase of 2,261 sq km (2021-25), urban sprawl expansion by 18,800 sq km, and agricultural land contraction by 14,200 sq km nationally.
