India's external debt stands at USD 700 billion; short-term share falls to 18.9%

Indian Army inducts first regiment of indigenous ATAGS 155mm/52-calibre artillery guns
DefenceThe Indian Army inducted the first regiment of the Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) at the Regiment of Artillery Centre, Hyderabad. Developed by DRDO-ARDE with Bharat Forge and Tata Advanced Systems, the ATAGS has 48 km range, 65% indigenous content, and 25% higher rate of fire than the Bofors. India and Norway sign MoU on Arctic research, open second joint polar station

Satish Kumar takes charge as Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board

Imphal-Jiribam broad-gauge railway line commissioned, Manipur on national network
GeographyThe 110-km Imphal-Jiribam broad-gauge railway line was commissioned, connecting Manipur's state capital Imphal with the national rail network for the first time. The project includes 45 tunnels totalling 61 km (Tunnel No.12 at 10.28 km is India's second-longest) and 141 bridges. Subsequent extension to Moreh on the Myanmar border is scheduled for 2028 under the Act East Policy.
