India and France sign agreement on joint development of sixth-generation fighter engine

Defence

India and France signed a Government-to-Government agreement for co-development of a next-generation combat aircraft engine under the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) Mark-2 programme. Safran and DRDO-GTRE will jointly develop the 110 kN thrust engine, with full technology transfer to India by 2032.

Supreme Court expands scope of Right to Education under Article 21A to include pre-primary

ISRO successfully tests reusable launch vehicle autonomous landing for the third time

ISRO conducted the third and final autonomous landing test of the Reusable Launch Vehicle Technology Demonstrator (RLV-TD) at the Aeronautical Test Range in Chitradurga. The winged vehicle was released from an IAF Chinook helicopter at 4.5 km altitude and executed a precision runway landing, validating all RLV mission parameters.

PM launches Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Phase IV covering 1.25 lakh km

Prime Minister launched PMGSY-IV with an outlay of Rs 80,250 crore to construct 1.25 lakh km of all-weather roads connecting remaining unconnected habitations with population of 250+ in plain areas and 100+ in hilly and tribal areas. The phase targets completion by March 2029.

India's first semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera achieves first silicon

The Tata Electronics semiconductor fabrication facility in Dholera Special Investment Region, Gujarat achieved first silicon milestone, producing test wafers at the 28nm node. India elected to UN Human Rights Council for 2027-29 term with highest votes

Environment Ministry notifies Eco-Sensitive Zone rules for Western Ghats based on Gadgil report
